Electrical Certificates
The right certificate for the work: Electrical Installation Certificates for new installations and circuits, Minor Works Certificates for alterations and additions, and condition reports for existing installations.
Electrical Installation Certificate (EIC)
The certificate issued for new installations, new circuits and consumer unit replacements — confirming the work was designed, built, inspected and tested to BS 7671.
Minor Electrical Installation Works Certificate
Certification for small alterations and additions to an existing circuit, such as an extra socket or a replacement light fitting.
Inspection & Testing After Alterations
Inspection and testing of altered or extended installations, with the right certificate for the work, and checks that existing circuits weren't affected.
Electrical Condition Report for Purchases & Lease Handovers
An independent EICR before you buy, sell or take on a commercial lease — so you know what you're taking on before you sign.
Electrical Compliance Audit & Document Review
We review your existing reports, certificates and records across one site or a portfolio, and tell you what's current, what's missing and what's due.
Reports and certificates explained
Three documents are often confused. An EICR reports on the condition of an existing installation. An Electrical Installation Certificate (EIC) certifies new work such as a new circuit or consumer unit. A Minor Works Certificate covers smaller changes to an existing circuit.
In England, some work in homes is notifiable under Part P of the Building Regulations: new circuits, consumer unit replacements, and work near a bath or shower. A registered competent person can self-certify it, and you receive a Building Regulations compliance certificate.
A certificate can only be issued by the people who designed, installed and tested the work. For work done by someone else, an EICR on its condition is the honest alternative.
